Caribbean Potato Soup and Sea Moss

Caribbean Potato Soup And Sea Moss. An easy and hearty vegetarian soup. Balanced with delicious caribbean flavours to make a wonderful Caribbean potato soup and sea moss, perfect anytime of the year.

Ingredients:

4 cups (200ml each) of water in a large Saucepan/Dutch-pot of water

4 sliced carrots

1/4 cabbage head

1 cup of broccoli

2 teaspoons olive oil

3 garlic cloves, thin sliced

2 teaspoons ginger powder

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon ground allspice (everyday seasoning)

1 cup cubed peeled sweet potato

1/4 cup of black eye peas

1 cup of sliced baby potato

1 cup of sliced okra

Half a packet of vegetable or chicken noodle soup packet/sachet dry stock powder

3 cups chopped fresh spinach

1 teaspoon of sea moss and bladderwrack powder or 1 dessert spoon of Sea Moss Gel

1 dessert spoon of Manuka honey (optional)

(optional: 1 teaspoon of caribbean hot pepper sauce/ chilli sauce)

(optional 1/3 teaspoon of Himalayan salt)

1/3 teaspoon of ground black peppercorn

Directions:

Heat up the water in the saucepan/dutch-pot adding the the potatoes and black eye peas immediately.

Simmer on the boil for 10 minutes adding the cabbage and carrots. After the 10 minutes of simmering, add the olive oil, broccoli, garlic cloves, ginger, turmeric, black ground peppercorn and all spice powders stirring in evenly.

Add the Okra.

Pour in the 1/2 packet/sachet of vegetable/chicken noodle soup powder.

Then add the Manuka honey stir in well.

After this, a table spoon of Sea Moss And Bladderwrack powder and stir in well until it is fully dissolved.

Once thats done add the spinach, Add the (optional) Himalayan salt and hot pepper sauce stir in and continue to cook for 10 more minutes. Leave to cool before serving.
